Prof Dr Euston QUAH
Euston Quah is professor and head of Economics at the NTU. He has published widely in the fields of environmental economics, cost-benefit analysis, and household economics.
His publications have appeared in major journals such as World Development, Applied Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, American Journal of Economics and Sociology, Journal of Economics, Environment and Planning, International Review of Law and Economics, and Journal of Environmental Management, among other 60 over publications including 5 books. His 2 latest books published by Routledge, UK include Cost-Benefit Analysis (with E.J. Mishan) 5th edition in 2007; and Cost-Benefit Analysis: Cases and Materials (with Raymond Toh) in 2012.
Professor Quah was formerly vice-dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; deputy director of the Public Policy Programme (now called the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy); and headed the economics department at the National University of Singapore. He is frequently invited to give keynote presentations at international conferences and his views are often sought by the media in Singapore and elsewhere such as the BBC, CAN, and in Taiwan, Denmark, and France.
Professor Quah advises the Singapore government on matters related to the environment, health, cost-benefit analysis and infrastructure project evaluations as well as to Price-Waterhouse and Genting International.
