Prof Dr Walter THESEIRA
Walter Theseira is professor of Economics at UniSIM. He received his PhD from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Dr Theseira’s research interests include applied microeconomics and behavioural economics. His research topics have included the determinants of charitable microfinance giving, volunteer fire-fighting, and peer-to-peer lending. Currently, he is working on behavioural experiments on implicit discrimination in charitable giving, as well as on information processing and honesty detection in lending.
He was the co-investigator of the pilot Singapore Retirement and Health Study, a joint multi-agency effort led by the CPF Board, and he has consulted for the World Bank, and in Singapore, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the Land Transport Authority. He will contribute his experience in applied micro-econometrics, survey and experimental design and analysis, and public policy analysis and evaluation, to the project.
