Dr Alberto COSTA

Alberto Costa’s research focuses on modeling first and solving later, optimization problems arising from various fields.

He enjoys cooking, reading, and learning more about human behavior in his free time. He recently wrote a book combining the latter with optimization, external pagewhich can be found herecall_made.

  awarded by the Mathematical Optimization Society. Co-winner for a contribution co-authored with G. Nannicini.
• 07/2015 GECCO Black Box Optimization Competition, our solver RBFOpt ranked 7th/28, and 1st among the open-source software.
• 04/2013 Prize “Premio Banca del Centroveneto – Oggi… lo studio per domani", awarded by a local bank for Ph.D.
• 09/2010 “Concours de math_ematiques pour resoudre une _enigme au jeu de pileou face" (mathematical contest about a problem in the game heads or tails),norganized by Pixis RCS Paris A 434 463 055, Xavier Grandsart. Co-winner with Pierre Deligne (Princeton, Fields Medal) and Maher Younan (University of Geneva).
