Postdoctoral Researcher of Optimal Management Strategies and Tactics

Jinhoa's current research mainly intends to investigate how specific features of private or regulatory contracts, professional standards, and court cases may have an impact on infrastructure resilience or its consequences.

The research goal is to construct a database derived from contracts, court cases, and administrative decisions related to infrastructure resilience for historical and empirical econometric analyses.

To achieve these goals, firm level data is collected from several jurisdictions in two on-going projects. Project A deals with contracting for resilience in France and Singapore for three core infrastructure sectors: space, airports, and ports. The French case is an ongoing collaboration with the Toulouse School of Economics in France. In this project, individual contracts between owners, regulators, and operators of core infrastructure are considered. Additionally, standards issued by public agencies and professional organizations are included.

Project B deals with court cases and administrative decisions in the US, UK, EU, Singapore and potentially Switzerland for five core infrastructure sectors: transport, energy, power, water, and telecommunication. This project can be a supplement of project A since we can compare how the impacts of hazard can be different depending on contracts.
