Dr Zhilu LAI
Zhilu obtained his PhD from Rice University where his key research aimed at integrating prior knowledge of dynamical systems with the architectures of machine learning models to learn physically interpretable models and governing equations from sensor data.
Zhilu joined the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich as a Postdoctoral Researcher in August 2018 where his research focuses included physics-inform machine learning for dynamical systems; computer vision aided infrastructure monitoring and assessment. Zhilu joined the Singapore-ETH Centre in September 2020 as a Senior Assistant with the Dynamic Mobile Sensing Platform team.
Research Interest
Zhilu is interested in structural health monitoring, physics-informed machine learning / deep learning, and vision-based monitoring.
