The Future Resilient Systems (FRS) addresses the challenges of increasing interconnectedness and complexity of infrastructure systems, which provide energy, transport, communication, financial, production, and other essential services to modern societies. It
aims to develop a framework, concepts, and tools to make interconnected infrastructure systems more robust and resilient.
The FRS project themes approach infrastructure from a socio-technical system perspective, integrating engineered, operational, and user subsystems, thereby building bridges between disciplines and patterns of thought.
The 12 research modules in FRS are grouped into three research clusters:
